Privacy Policy — Rootward
Summary
Rootward (“the app”) helps you track plant watering schedules on your device. For the version this policy describes, the app is designed to store your plant information locally on your phone and does not require you to create an account in the app.
Information the app processes
- Plant details you enter: names, watering frequency, optional notes, and watering/snooze timestamps the app uses for reminders.
- Optional photos: if you choose to add a plant picture, the app accesses your camera and/or photo library only to attach an image you select or capture. Images are stored on your device as part of your plant data.
- Notification scheduling: the app schedules local notifications so you can receive watering reminders. This uses the operating system’s notification features on your device.
How information is stored
- Plant data is stored on your device using local storage (including a local database).
- We do not operate a login system or user accounts in the app version described here, and this app does not sync your plant data to our servers as part of the core features above.
If you later add cloud sync, accounts, analytics, or crash reporting, you must update this policy and your store disclosures.
Data sharing
- We do not sell your personal information.
- We do not share your plant data with advertisers as part of the app version described here.
If you add third-party SDKs, list them and what they collect.
Permissions
The app may request:
- Notifications: to show watering reminders.
- Camera / photo library: only if you add or change a plant photo.
You can change or revoke permissions in your device settings; some features may not work without them.
Children’s privacy
The app is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have collected information from a child, contact us at the email above.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The new effective date will be posted at the top when we do.
